INGREDIENTS
  • Crust:
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter melted
  • 1 1/2 c flour
  • .
  • Filling:
  • 6 large Granny Smith apples
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 t cinnamon
  • Crumb Topping:
  • 3/4 c flour
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 3 T sugar
  • cinnamon to taste
  • dash of vanilla
DIRECTIONS
  1. For crust:
  2. mix ingredients and pat into pie pan.
  3. For filling:
  4. Peel and slice apples, put in a large pot with butter, sugar, and cinnamon.
  5. Steam until apples are soft.
  6. Pour filling into crust.
  7. For topping:
  8. Mix ingredients together and crumble over filling.
  9. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven. After 10 minutes reduce heat to 375 degrees, bake for 45 minutes more. Cool on a wire rack.
