Easy Rustic Fruit Tart

  • 1 pkg. refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1 21 oz. can fruit pie filling
  • 1/2 tsp. citrus zest
  • egg wash
  • sugar
  • Good fruit filling/citrus zest combos: Apple/Lemon, Peach/Lemon, Cherry/Orange, Blueberry/ Lemon or Orange
  1. Pre-heat oven to 350
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  3. Unroll one pie crust on baking sheet
  4. Pour can of pie filling into center of pie crust, leaving a 1 1/4" (or so) border
  5. Sprinkle zest over filling
  6. Fold pie crust up and over edges of filling, pleating
  7. Brush egg wash over crust
  8. Sprinkle with sugar
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown, rotating sheet to evenly cook
This is so easy, and yet it makes a splash at dinner parties. I won't tell your guests how easy it is if you don't tell mine.
