Easy Turkey Meatballs in Simple Tomato Sauce

  • 1 lb ground turkey (or beef, chicken, lamb, pork, etc...)
  • 1/3 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1/3 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp Italian seasoning, separated
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • A few tbsp Olive Oil, for sauteing
DIRECTIONS
  1. Form the meatballs with the turkey, cheese, bread crumbs, 1 tbsp seasoning and egg. Saute in olive oil over medium high heat, browning on at least 3 sides. Remove from pan and set aside.
  2. Add the 2 cans of tomatoes to the pan stirring in the remaining seasoning. Simmer for 5 minutes, then add in the meatballs. Simmer another 10 - 12 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through.
  3. Serve with pasta or gnocchi.
