Ed's Chili
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 pkg dry taco seasoning mix
  • half a 12-oz. jar salsa
  • 16-oz. can kidney beans undrained. 15-oz. can black beans undrained. 14 1/2-oz can diced tomatoes undrained.
  • pinch of sugar, shredded cheese, chopped onions, sour cream, diced fresh tomatoes, guacamole, sliced black olives.
  1. Brown gound beef in skillet. Drain.
  2. Combine first 7 ingredients in slow cooker.
  3. Cover. Heat on High until mixture comes to boil.
  4. Reduce heat to Low. Simmer 1 1/2 hours.
  5. To reduce liquids, continue cooking uncovered.
  6. Top individual servings with choice of shredded cheese, onions, a dollop of sour cream, fresh diced tomatoes, guacamole, and sliced olives.
To be honest, I found a new love...cooking!! I have never made homemade chilli before. I always just make the same thing with a few goodies here and there. But when I made this chilli, I was proud of myself because it was sooo good. (I like to put a pinch of sugar in it too!)
