  • 1 pound fresh or frozen thawed edamame or green soybeans
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  1. Put a steamer basket in a large saucepan with 1" water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat to medium. Add the beans and sprinkle with the salt. Cover and steam for 10 minutes or until the beans are warmed through.
  2. Uncover and let the beans cool. To serve, remove and discard the tough, stringy pods and eat the beans inside.
