Fig Preserves Cake

INGREDIENTS
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp each: allspice, cloves, nutmeg, and cinammon
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 pint fig presersves
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup buttermil
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 cups pecans
DIRECTIONS
  1. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
  2. Alternate buttermilk and flour, 1 cup at a time, beating well.
  3. Add soda, vanilla, and spices.
  4. Mix in preserves and pecans.
  5. Bake in tube pan 325 for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
