French Onion Beef Casserole

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 1/4 pound boneless beef round steak (1/2-3/4 inch thick)
  • 1 (8 oz) pkg sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 large onion, sliced, separated into rings
  • 1 can condensed French onion soup
  • 1 (6 oz) pkg herb stuffing mix
  • 1/4 cup margarine or butter, melted
  • 4 oz (1 cup) shredded mozzarella cheese
DIRECTIONS
  1. Cut beef into 6 serving size pieces beef.
  2. Layer half each of beef, mushrooms and onions in 3 1/2 to 4-quart slow cooker; repeat layers.
  3. Pour soup over ingredients in slow cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on low setting for 8 to 10 hours or until beef is tender and no longer pink.
  5. Before serving, in medium bowl, combine stuffing mix, contents of seasoning packet, melted margarine and 1/2 cup of liquid from slow cooker; toss to mix.
  6. Place stuffing on top of contents in slow
  7. cooker.
  8. Increase heat to high setting.
  9. Cover; cook an additional 10 minutes or until stuffing is fluffy.
  10. Sprinkle with cheese .
  11. Cover and cook until cheese is melted.
  12. Serves 6.
