Fried Ice Cream
  • 1 pint good-quality French vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 cup crushed corn flakes
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • Honey and whipped cream
  1. Scoop out balls of ice cream, measuring about 1-1/2 inches in diameter.
  2. Freeze until very firm.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine corn flakes, cinnamon and sugar.
  4. Roll ice cream balls in corn-flake mixture and freeze again.
  5. Beat egg.
  6. Dip coated ice cream balls into egg, roll in crumbs and freeze again.
  7. When ready to serve, heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer to 350 degrees F.
  8. Place one or two balls on a slotted spoon and lower into hot oil.
  9. Cook one minute and remove immediately.
  10. Drizzle with honey and top with whipped cream.
