Frosted Mocha Mocha Brownies
INGREDIENTS
  • Brownies:
  • 3/4 C unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/4 C plus 3 TBLS butter
  • 1 C white sugar
  • 1 C brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp instant espresso powder
  • 1 C flour
  • (you could add a cup of nuts if you like)
  • Frosting:
  • 1/2 C butter
  • 1/4 C unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp instant espresso powder
  • 3 1/2 C confectioners' sugar
  • 2 - 4 TBLS milk
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. Brownies:
  3. Melt butter and pour into a mixing bowl.
  4. Mix in cocoa powder and espresso powder.
  5. Add sugars, vanilla and eggs, mix will.
  6. Add flour and mix.
  7. Pour into parchment paper lined 13x9 baking pan.
  8. Bake 30 - 35 minutes.
  9. Cool completely.
  10. Frosting:
  11. Melt butter and pour into a mixing bowl.
  12. Add cocoa powder, espresso powder and vanilla; mix well (this will be VERY thick).
  13. Mix in milk, a little at a time, until you get to the consistency you want.
  14. Spread over brownies.
  15. Cut into squares.
  16. Enjoy!
RECIPE BACKSTORY
I had a bunch of teenagers coming back to my house and needed some snacks. This is one of the things I came up with. They have a nice strong coffee flavor. YUM!
