Garbanzo Lemon Hummus
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbs plus 1 tsp olive oil
  • 15-oz can of garbanzo beans( drain and save the liquid)
  • 1/4 cup of tahini
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbs lemon juice
  • 3 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 dashes of hot sauce
  1. Saute the garlic and onion in 1 tsp of the olive oil.
  2. Transfer to a food processor and blend with the remaining olive oil process. Add all remaining ingredients and process. If mixture is too dry add the reserved liquid from the beans,process until the consistency is creamy or you could use more olive oil.
  3. Serve with Pita wedges or raw veggies Janie
