CATEGORIES
INGREDIENTS
  • Cooking Time: 10 to 12 minutes
  • Servings: 6 to 8 persons
  • Preparation Time: 20 minutes
  • 220g dark chocolate slab (I normally use Nestle Gold original, 70% cocoa)
  • 125g unsalted butter (remove from fridge in advance to soften it)
  • 125g sugar
  • 90g baking flour
  • 5 whole eggs
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 210°C.
  2. Break chocolate slab into smaller pieces and melt (in the microwave slowly for a few seconds).
  3. Add the softened butter to the melted chocolate and mix thoroughly.
  4. Add the sugar, baking flour and the eggs and mix again until you achieve a smooth texture (the eggs do not require to be beaten separately).
  5. Pour the mixture into a round cake tin and place in the oven.
  6. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes to achieve a soft and smooth center.
RECIPE BACKSTORY
This recipe is of a soft centered Chocolate cake (moelleux meaning soft and smooth in French) that comes from France. The first time I tried it, it was homemade in the countryside of France by my husband's family and it was simply delicious! I would like to share it as it is easy to make and it is a very nice cake to bake for the family. Submitted by: "The Liu Family"
