Ginger Pork Wonton Soup

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 chub of pork sausage
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 2-3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon each: salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1-2 stalks green onions, sliced
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 1 pkg wonton wrappers - found in produce section by asian veggies
  • 1 egg + 1 tablespoon water for egg wash
  • 4-6 cups chicken broth
  • 2-3 slices of ginger
  • 2 stalks green onion, sliced
DIRECTIONS
  1. Combine all filling ingredients.
  2. Place a small mound of filling on each wrapper.
  3. Brush egg wash on 2 sides of each wrapper.
  4. Fold over opposite side to form triangle.
  5. Seal well and allow to sit for 20-30 minutes.
  6. In a large pot, boil chicken broth with ginger.
  7. Add filled wontons; allow it to boil until cooked.
  8. To serve, garnish with sliced green onion
