Gingerbread House Glue aka Royal Frosting
  • 1 lb. powdered (confectioner's) sugar
  • 4 T. meringue powder, or 3 egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • dash of salt
  • 7 T. water
  1. Sift powdered sugar and cream of tartar.
  2. Combine all ingredients and whip 8 minutes at high speed in electric mixer.
  3. Keep bowl covered with damp cloth, preventing icing from hardening while you work.
