Gingersnaps

INGREDIENTS
  • ¾ cup margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup molasses
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon cloves
  • Additional sugar
DIRECTIONS
  1. In a mixing bowl, thoroughly cream together margarine and sugar.
  2. Add egg and molasses; beat well.
  3. Mix in dry ingredients.
  4. Chill.
  5. Form into walnut-sized balls and dip into additional sugar.
  6. Bake on a lightly greased cookie sheet at 350° for 12-14 minutes.
  7. Let cookies stand on sheet until they crack, then remove to cool.
