Giovanna's Oatmeal Drop Cakes - Original Recipe

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp soda
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup nutmeats
  • 2 cups quick cooking oatmeal
  • 2 cups flour
DIRECTIONS
  1. Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs one at a time. Stir in vanilla. Add flour mixture and buttermilk alternately.
  2. Fold in raisins and walnuts.
  3. Drop by rounded spoonfuls on parchment lined cookie sheets.
  4. Bake 12 -14 minutes and let cool 5 minutes before transferring to wire rack to cool completely.
