Grandma's Dressing for Apple Salad
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 T. Flour
  • 3 T. vinegar
  • 1 T. butter*
  1. Mix and boil until it thickens, stirring constantly. Cool and mix it into diced apples, celery, grapes, pineapple tidbits, marshmallow bits and pecan halves (can use walnuts).
  2. *original recipe said butter size of hickory nut. Took me while to figure out that size.
  3. This recipe came from a fellow worker of my Husband and this is what she called it.
  4. I got it about 30 years ago when she brought some to a company picnic. Enjoy
