Grandma Kerr's Pumpkin Pie

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 1/2 cups canned pumpkin or mashed cooked pumpkin
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2-1 tsp. ginger
  • 1-1 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4-1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4-1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 1/4 cup milk
  • 1- 6 oz. can evaporated milk
  • 1 deep pie shell frozen or 2 shallow pie shells frozen
DIRECTIONS
  1. Combine pumpkin, sugar, salt, and spices.
  2. Add eggs, milk, and evaporated milk.
  3. Blend.
  4. Pour into 9 inch pie shell.
  5. Bake in a pre-heated 400* oven for 50 minutes.
  6. Use first measurement for golden, mildly spiced pie.
  7. Use second measurement for a richly spiced pie.
  8. For pecan pumpkin pie, sprinkle 3 tbsp. of pecans on top before baking.
