INGREDIENTS
  • Cooking Time: 25/30
  • 2 C milk
  • 4 T Shortening
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 C Potato Flakes (I use Potato Buds)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 C warm water
  • 2 pkgs of yeast
  • 4 1/2 to 6 C flour
  • 1 pint of whipping cream
  • small amount of sugar
  • cinnamon and sugar mixed
DIRECTIONS
  1. Bring to Boil:
  2. 2 C milk
  3. 4 T Shortening
  4. 1 t salt
  5. 1 C Potato Flakes (I use Potato Buds)
  6. Set off to cool.
  7. Beat well 3 eggs.
  8. In 1/2 C warm water dissolve 2 pkgs of yeast. When mixture has cooled, combine eggs and yeast with milk mixture in large bowl.
  9. Start adding flour until you get a good kneadable dough (about 4 ½ to 6 C)
  10. Knead 10 minutes, let rise 2 hours.
  11. Punch down.
  12. Put dough into 2 – 9 X 13 cake pans and let rise 1 1/2 hours. Take finger and punch holes in dough. (I use my finger joint just up from the knuckle.)
  13. Take 1 pint of whipping cream; add small amount of sugar and fill holes with the cream.
  14. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar mixed.
  15. Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes.
