Green Bean Bundles

  • 1-1 1/2 lb fresh green beans
  • 6-8 thin slices of bacon
  • 1/4C butter
  • 3/4C firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  1. Wash and cut off the stem end of green beans.
  2. Drop in boiling, salted water for 3 to 5 minutes just until tender but still crisp.
  3. Drain and let stand in ice water for while making bundles.
  4. Take 7-10 green beans with cut ends all on one end, tie with a slice of bacon in the center, letting bacon lay over green beans lengthwise.
  5. Bring butter, brown sugar and garlic powder to a boil. Pour over green bean bundles.
  6. Bake at 350F for 20 to 30 minutes.
