Gunnar M’s Hearty Chili Recipe modified from Aunt Sue

  • 1 and 1/2 lbs of hamburger meat, heterogeneous mixture
  • 1 lg onion chopped, heterogeneous mixture
  • 1 lg green pepper chopped, heterogeneous mixture
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt pure substance NaCl,
  • 1 1/2 tsp paprika, heterogeneous mixture
  • 1-2 T chili powder, heterogeneous mixture
  • 1-T cumin ground,homogeneous mixture
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper, heterogeneous mixture
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper, heterogeneous mixture
  • 3 cloves chopped garlic, heterogeneous mixture
  • 1 . lg can whole tomatoes, heterogeneous mixture
  • 1 can tomato soup, homogeneous mixture
  • 1 can red kidney beans, heterogeneous mixture
  1. Cook meat and drain fat.
  2. Add onion, green pepper and cook til tender.
  3. Add next 9 ingredients and simmer for 2 hours (stir occasionally) add beans just before serving. This is a hearty dish and can be tastier by adding grated cheddar and chopped raw onion.
I like chili, so I used this family recipe. CHEMISTRY INFORMATION: When you boil the chili, that is a physical change. Putting everything together in the pot is a physical change.
