HOW TO COOK JASMINE RICE

  • 1 1/2 c. jasmine rice
  • 2 3/4 c. water
  • 1 t. salt
DIRECTIONS
  1. Measure out rice and rinse with cool water, drain. Meanwhile bring water to boil in a pot, when boiling add rice and stir. Cover pot, lower heat to low. Cook without disturbing for 15 minutes. Stir rice and check for doneness. If ready, fluff and serve. If not done, but there is still moisture in the pot, cover and cook another 5 minutes, if rice is not done and the pot is dry, add 2 T. water and cook another 5 minutes, covered. Fluff and serve.
RECIPE BACKSTORY
Our family enjoys Asian dishes which are usually served with fluffy Jasmine rice. I always purchase my Jasmine rice from the Asian market because it is fresher and has nothing added to it.
