Hamburger Italian Beef
INGREDIENTS
  • 2 lbs hamburger
  • 1 yellow cooking onion
  • 1/2 sweet green pepper
  • 1/2 sweet red bell pepper
  • garlic powder or diced garlic
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes or granular works better
  • 1/2 jar Mezzetta Chicago-Style Mild Giardiniera Italian Sandwich Mix cut up if needed (or just 1/2 jar of pepperoncini peppers chopped up if your stores are out of the Giardiniera like ours always are) and about 2 TBS of the juice in the jar
  • dash of worchestershire sauce (opt)
  • Zesty Italian dressing a few splashes (opt)
  • parmasean cheese (opt)
  • Italian sub roll/ hoggie buns
  • provolone cheese
DIRECTIONS
  1. Brown hamburger in a lil water strain to get the grease off then return to pan * NOTE: NEVER ADD VEGGIES TO MEAT UNTIL ITS STRAINED! IF YOU ADD BEFORE YOU STRAIN YOU'LL STRAIN OUT MOST ALL THE FLAVOR OF THE VEGGIES!
  2. Add onion and green and red peppers and cook till veggies are soft then add pepprocini peppers/ or giardinera and bouillion, worchestershire sauce, garlic powder and cook a lil
  3. Add juice from jar and few splashes of italian dressing if using and cook a lil more
  4. Put provolone slice in the buns then spoon meat mix on top of cheese in the buns (my hubby used shredded provolone and parmasean stirred into the meat mix before serving in the one pictured above)
