Havarti Onion Biscuits
INGREDIENTS

- 2 1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
- 2 Tbsps. Baking Powder
- 1/2 Cup Cold Salted Butter
- 1 Cup Butter Milk
- 1 1/2 Cups Havarti Cheese
- 1/2 Cup Caramelized Onions
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees
- Caramelize onions over medium heat until a deep brown color but not burned. Set aside until cooled
- Combine flour and baking powder
- Cut cold butter into the flour with a pastry cutter, fork, or food processor until pea-sized
- Add shredded cheese and onions, mix thoroughly
- Create a well in the center and pour in the buttermilk
- Mix well but don't overmix!
- Turn dough out onto a lightly floured work surface and gently turn into a rough rectangle
- Fold the dough into the center from all 4 sides and roll out. Repeat the process twice more until the dough is about 1/2 inch thick
- Cut into your desired size biscuits
- Put into baking pan
- Brush tops with milk or egg wash
- Bake for 15 minutes or until light golden brown
