Holstein Crinkles
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 4 squares unsweetened chocolate melted and cooled
  • 2 t. vanilla
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 t. baking powder
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 1 c. mini semisweet choc. chips
  • 3/4 to 1 c. confectioners' sugar
  1. Combine the sugar, oil, chocolate and vanilla. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Combine the flour, powder and salt; gradually add to chocolate mixture and beat until smooth. Stir in chocolate chips. Cover and fridge for 4 hours or until easy to handle. Roll into 1" balls, roll in confectioners' sugar. Place on greased sheets. Bake at 350 for 10-12 min. or until set. Yield 6 dozen.
These are so much like soft brownies. I love them. They look awesome on a red plate for Christmas goodies. The sugar on top really adds a nice finish. These are AWESOME for school functions. Kids think they look so cool.
