Home- style Scalloped Potatoes
INGREDIENTS
  • Servings: 8
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • 5 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1-1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 5 cups milk
  • 6 cups thinly sliced potatoes
DIRECTIONS
  1. In a large saucepan, saute onion in butter until tender.
  2. Stir in flour, salt and pepper until blended.
  3. Gradually add milk.
  4. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 min. or until sauce is thickened.
  5. Place half of potatoes in a greased 3-qt. baking dish.
  6. Pour half of sauce over potatoes. Repeat layers.
  7. Bake, uncovered, at 350ยบ for 60-70 min. or
  8. until potatoes ae tender and top is lightly browned.
  9. Serve immediately.
