Homemade Graham Crackers

- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups whole wheat graham flour (We used Hudgson Mill brand from Walmart)
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup milk + 2 tbl.
DIRECTIONS
- In a medium mixing bowl, cream butter and brown sugar together; stir in vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, combine flours, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; stir into creamed mixture, alternating with milk.
- Cover dough and chill until firm (about an hour).
- On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/8 thickness; cut into rectangles.
- Place each cracker 1/2 inch apart on greased baking sheets (or onto a baking stone).
- Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are golden.
- Remove crackers from baking sheets to cool on wire racks.
