Homemade Kind Bar
INGREDIENTS
  • Cooking Time: 15 minutes
  • Servings: 9 bars
  • Preparation Time: 10 minutes
  • 2 cup breakfast cereal such as Wheaties, Special K etc.
  • 1/4 cup oatmeal (blend in food processor to pulverize)
  • 1/4 dried fruit including raisins
  • 3 T. coconut
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup or brown rice syrup or honey
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees
  2. Line an 8x8 pan with parchment paper
  3. Mix all dry ingredients and fruits, nuts, etc. in a mixing bowl.
  4. Measuring isn't really necessary, the amounts above are a guide.
  5. Drizzle corn syrup or brown rice syrup over the cereal to coat.
  6. Blend the cereal until lightly coated and slightly glossy
  7. Press into the pan
  8. Bake for 15 minutes
  9. Cool and Enjoy
RECIPE BACKSTORY
I love eating Kind Bars and decided this year to make them in class. Use a variety of ingredients you have at home, cereal, flax seed, oats, dried fruit, chocolate chips, coconut, nuts etc. Easy and delicious.
