Homemade Sweet Chili Sauce by Debora Tonova

  • 2 kg red bell peppers
  • 400 g red hot peppers
  • 1.2 kg sugar
  • 300 ml apple vinegar
  • 2 heads of garlic
  • salt
  1. The bell peppers should be washed and cleaned, same should be done for the hot peppers. Clean the hot peppers with gloves for sure. Pass all and put to boil around 10 minutes. After 10 minutes add sugar, garlic ( pass before putting in), apple vinegar and salt. Boil another 10-15 minutes (depending on the preferred density).
  2. Once done put in small jars (200g) and turn upside down to cool. This will help the cap to be tightly closed.
  3. On the next day or whenever you want grab some nachos and enjoy.
  4. *Once opened it should be stored in the fridge.
It's not a traditional Bulgarian dish, but it tastes much better than the one in the supermarkets. We are serving this with some nachos, different varieties of snacks etc.
