Huckleberry Buckle

- 1/3 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups huckleberries
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup soft butter
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 cups huckleberries
DIRECTIONS
- Cream: 1/3 cup shortening and 3/4 cup sugar; add 1 egg and beat well.
- Sift together: 2 cups flour, 2 tsp. baking powder and salt.
- Add flour mixture alternatively with 1/2 cup milk, to the creamed mixture.
- Carefully blend in berries. Spread in a greased 9"x9" pan.
- Mix by hand to make topping: 1/3 cup flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup soft butter, 1 tsp. cinnamon.
- Put topping on mixture in the pan and bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
