Hungarian Goulash

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 pound stew meat, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 2 to 4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons paprika
  • Dash red pepper
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Hot cooked noodles
DIRECTIONS
  1. In skillet, brown meat in oil. Add onion and garlic and cook until onion is tender. Combine beef mixture, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, dry mustard, 1 1/2 cups water, vinegar, paprika and red pepper; place in slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
  2. Combine flour and 2 tablespoons water; stir into meat mixture. Turn slow cooker to high and cook 5 minutes until thickened.
  3. Serve over hot noodles
