• 3 to 4 artichokes (1 per
  • person)
  • Italian bread crumbs
  • Parmesan cheese (sprinkle
  • kind)
  • olive oil
  • salt and pepper
  • garlic powder
  1. To prepare artichokes: Cut stem off, leaving about
  2. 1-inch with scissors. Clip off pointed "thorns" from top of
  3. each leaf. Wash and stand up (leaves point up) in a large,
  4. deep pot. Put about 1 1/2-inches water in bottom of pot. Put
  5. lid on pot and steam until leaves will slightly pull away from
  6. center of artichoke. While artichokes are steaming, prepare
  7. "stuffing".
  8. In a small bowl, mix bread crumbs with salt, pepper,
  9. garlic powder and Parmesan cheese to taste. When artichokes
  10. are softened, take pot off stove; leave artichokes in pot.
  11. With small teaspoon, put stuffing down into each leaf. Sprin-
  12. kle artichokes with any stuffing that you have left. Drizzle
  13. artichokes with olive oil. Cover and steam again until done.
  14. Make sure there is water in bottom of pot at all times
