Jarelsberg, Onion and Apple canapes

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 tbs butter
  • 1 medium onion, cut into fourths and sliced
  • 4 oz thinly sliced Jarelsberg or Swiss Cheese
  • 16 slices of pumpernickel Cocktail Bread
  • 1 Tbs Dijon-Mayonnaise Blend or Dijon Mustard
  • 1-2 Tbs chopped chives
  • 1 Medium apple, unpeeled and thinly sliced
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 400.
  2. Cook the onion in the butter for 4-6 minutes.
  3. Cut the cheese to fit the bread.
  4. Spread each slice of bread with the Dijon-Mayonnaise blend.
  5. Top each with some onion, apple and cheese.
  6. Sprinkle with some chopped chives.
  7. Place on a jelly roll pan and bake for about 5 minutes.
