Jen's cali poke

  • 2 lbs previously frozen or VERY fresh ahi tuna
  • 1 t sesame oil
  • 1 T ground sesame seeds
  • 1 T soy sauce
  • 1 T crushed red pepper
  1. Being as gentle with fish as possible, cut into 1/2" cubes
  2. mix sesame oil, sesame seeds, soy sauce and red pepper
  3. Pour over fish and gently mix to coat
  4. Cover tightly and put in fridge
  5. Eat as is, or with Won ton Chips
I love true hawaiian poke, but it is virtually impossible to make here - we don't have the seaweed, and it is really hard to get the great quality ahi, so when I see it, I snatch it up as quickly as possible!
