Just Like Nana's Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

- 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter (at room temperature)
- 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 large egg
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cups regular oats
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 cup toasted almonds (can use any nuts)
- 1/2 cup raisins (or any other dried fruit)
DIRECTIONS
- - In a mixer, cream together butter, sugars, vanilla and egg for 3-4 minutes
- - In a separate bowl, stir together the flour, oats, cinnamon, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt and then add the dry mixture to the wet mixture in the mixer bowl
- - Blend just until combined
- - Stir in the nuts and fruit with a spoon
- - With a medium-sized cookie scoop, place dough scoops about 2 inches apart on cookie sheets lined with parchment paper
- - Bake for 10- 11 minutes until the cookies start to brown on the outside, and just cook through in the middle
