Kalbi Ribs Or Korean Short Ribs

  • 3# Korean cut beef ribs
  • 50ml soy sauce
  • 50g brown sugar
  • 50ml mirin
  • 50ml water
  • 1 tbs sesame oil
  • 1 asian pear (peeled and deseeded)
  • 10 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 white onion (240g)
  • 50ml maple syrup
  1. Soak the beef ribs in water for about 10 mins.
  2. Combine all ingredients except for the beef in a blender and blend into a liquid marinade.
  3. Drain the beef and combine with the marinade in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for about 12 and up to 24 hours.
  4. In a hot skillet, sear each side for 3-4 mins or place on sheet tray with a sheet rack and roast in a 425 degree oven for 15 mins.
