Karen's Gingerbread Recipe
INGREDIENTS
- Gingerbread Recipe
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening (Crisco)
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup corn syrup (light)
- 3 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- Mortar (icing to hold house together)
- 3 egg whites AT ROOM TEMPERATURE
- 1 box (1 lb) confectioners sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
DIRECTIONS
- Gingerbread Recipe:Mix all ingredients in food processor to form dough or use electric hand mixer. Bake houses pieces at 350 for 10-12 minutes
- Mortar (icing to hold house together): Beat ingredients for TEN (10) minutes until stiff. (Don't cheat:)
