Kathy's kokonut kake
  • Cooking Time: 29-34 minutes
  • Servings: 12
  • Preparation Time: 10 minutes
  • French Vanilla boxed cake mix
  • 1 can of cream of coconut ( often found in the drink mixers section of the grocery store)
  • 1 12oz bag of sweetened coconut
  • 1 container of cool whip
  1. Bake cake in a greased 13x9 greased pan according to box instructions.
  2. let cake cool in pan.
  3. after cooled, poke as many holes as you can in the cake with a long tooth pick
  4. Heat can of coconut in pan of water to thin out.
  5. open can and gently pour contents into the holes
  6. spread top of cake with coolwhip
  7. sprinkle top with coconut
  8. Serve ( refrigerate any leftovers)
I was given a similar recipe about 15 years ago, I tweaked it a bit and came up with this. when I take it to parties, it's always a hit
