Key Lime Pie
  • 1 baked pie crust or graham cracker crust
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14-oz)
  • 3 eggs, separated.
  • 3 egg whites
  • 6 tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1/4 cup key lime juice
  1. Preheat oven to 425
  2. Prepare the crust
  3. In a bowl mix the eggs, sweetened condensed milk, and key lime juice.
  4. May add a few drops of green food coloring
  5. Pour into crust
  6. Prepare the Topping
  7. Beat the egg white until soft peaks form
  8. Add the sugar and cream of tartar.
  9. Add the sugar 1 tbsp at a time beating after each addition.
  10. Beat the egg white until very stiff.
  11. Put on top of the filling making sure that cover till the edge of the crust.
  12. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes or until the egg whites are light golden brown.
