INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup mashed potatoes (or ½ cup instant potatoes dry)
  • 1 ½ cups potato water (warm)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup lard or butter
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • Mace
  • 2 or 3 eggs beaten
  • 8 cups flour more or less (soft dough)
  • 2 packages yeast in ½ cup warm water

  • 2 or 3 eggs beaten
  • 8 cups flour more or less (soft dough)
  • 2 packages yeast in ½ cup warm water
DIRECTIONS
  1. Heat all ingredients, except eggs. Cool and then add eggs. Add flour and yeast to make soft dough then add rest of flour and continue beating until elastic. Let rise until doubled then make into balls and put on pans to rise. Form holes in balls and fill with filling of your choice, let rise again and bake in 350 to 375 oven for 10 minutes or until browned.
  2. I use lard for baking and butter for spreading on rising and baked dough.
