Lasagna (6 Cheese!) Elaine Mazur's Style
INGREDIENTS
  • 2 boxes Lasagna noodles
  • 3 Lb’s hamburger
  • 2 sm jars Ragu (parmasean/ramano or any 2 flavors of your choice)
  • 2 cooking onions
  • 1 green pepper
  • (opt. add mushrooms)
  • garlic powder
  • Salt and Pepper
  • parsley flakes
  • 1 lg tub ricotta cheese(DO NOT USE LOW FAT!!!! WON’T WORK LIKE ITS SUPPOSE TOO!!!)
  • 1 lg tub sm curd cottage cheese (DO NOT USE LOW FAT!!!! WON’T WORK LIKE ITS SUPPOSE TOO!!!)
  • 1 1/2- 2 Cups of parmasean cheese
  • 1 - 1 1/2 Cups of ramano cheese
  • shredded Provolone
  • shredded motzerella cheese
DIRECTIONS
  1. Meat Mix:
  2. Cook hamburger in water till no red in it strain and return 2 pan
  3. add diced onion & green pepper ( opt. mushrooms)
  4. add some garlic powder.
  5. cook over med-low heat till all veggies soft
  6. set in bowl (glass/metal) and cover w/ syran wrap put in fridge
  7. Reserve 2 handfuls to add to sauce
  8. Cheese Mix:
  9. mix all cheeses 2gether
  10. add a lil salt and pepper and parsley
  11. reserve 2-3 handfuls Motzerella for topping
  12. Pasta & Sauce:
  13. Boil big stock pot water w/ oil and salt
  14. cook noodles when done empty 1/2 water then run cold water in pan making sure noodle not sticking 2gether
  15. Sauce:
  16. Put 2 handfuls of meat mix in pan
  17. Add both sauces
  18. Heat sauce to boiling remove from heat
  19. Putting it together:
  20. Grease lg baking pan
  21. Cover bottom w/sauce
  22. 1) layer a layer of noodles all the same direction
  23. 2) top with layer of cheese
  24. 3) top cheese w/meat layer
  25. 4) top w/layer sauce thinly
  26. 5) repeat 1-4 alternating direction of noodles w/each layer till all gone
  27. end w/ noodles covered w/sauce and hand full or 2 of motzerella cheese
  28. Cover & Bake in 350 degree oven for 15 mins
  29. Uncover and bake 5-10 mins

My Grandmother and mother made it better than me. But only because my noodles kept breaking. They just had the knack. Not a single broken noodle!
