  • Cooking Time: 2 hours
  • Servings: 6-7
  • Preparation Time: 15 minutes
  • 5 Medium to large Sweet Potatoes
  • 1/4 cup pure Maple Syrup
  • 1 stick ( Half cup) butter
  1. Peel the sweet potatoes and place them in boiling water. Boil them until they're fairly tender,
  2. take them out and let them cool
  3. Once cooled, use a knife to cut them into 1/2 inch wide slices
  4. In a large frying pan, melt the stick of butter, and then stir in the 1/4 cup of pure maple syrup
  5. Turn the heat to low, and then lay the Sweet potato slices into the butter/syrup mix.
  6. Using a turkey baster, continue to baste the sweet potatoes every 5 - 10 minutes with the butter/syrup mix
  7. You can do this for hours, but they're really wonderful after about 45 minutes to an hour
We love sweet potatoes, whether mashed, fried, baked, or what have you. But by basting these in butter and maple syrup, they take on a sweetness that is simply wonderful to experience.
