Marbled Holiday Pound Cake
INGREDIENTS
  • Cooking Time: 70 minuutes
  • Preparation Time: about 1 hour
  • 4 cups flour
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 3/4 t. baking powder
  • 3/4 t. salt
  • 1/2 t. baking soda
  • 2 t. cinnamon
  • 1 c. unsalted butter (soft)
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup solid pumpkin
  • 2 squares sweetened chocolate melted
  • 2 T. brewed cold coffee
  • 1 T. Vanilla
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 350 deg, grease/flour 10" tube pan (angel food).
  2. In large blow, combine 3 1/2 cups four, 1 1/2 t. baking powder, salt and baking soda, set aside.
  3. In large bowl with electric mixer on high, cream butter
  4. gradually add sugar
  5. beat for 2 minutes. reduce to med-low
  6. add eggs, 1 at a time, alternate flour mixture and sour cream
  7. End with flour, measure 2 cups and stir into cinnamon
  8. add pumpkin, blend, set aside.
  9. In medium bowl, add 2 1/2 cups plain batter with chocolate and coffee, set aside.
  10. Add vanilla to remaining batter.
  11. Spoon 3 different batters into prepared pan by heaping spoonfuls, alternating flavors.
  12. Do not smooth top.
  13. Bake 70 minute.
  14. Toothpick test.
  15. Cover with foil if browning to quick
  16. Cool 15 minute
  17. Run knife around, remove, cool completely
