Marmalade Brownies
INGREDIENTS
  • Servings: 24
  • 3/4 c. orange marmalade
  • 1/2 c. pitted whole dates, chopped
  • 1 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts
DIRECTIONS
  1. Combine marmalade and dates; set aside.
  2. In mixer bowl, cream brown sugar, butter, and vanilla till fluffy.
  3. Add eggs; beat well.
  4. Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Add to creamed mixture,
  6. beating till combined.
  7. Stir in nuts.
  8. Spread TWO-THIRDS of the dough over bottom of ungreased 13x9x2in. baking pan.
  9. Top with date mixture.
  10. Drop remaining dough by spoonfuls evenly over date layer.
  11. Bake in 350F oven for 20 - 25 min. Cool in pan.
