Me'me's Maple Scones
  • Cooking Time: 15 to 20
  • 2c. flour
  • 1 T Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 4 oz. cold butter
  • 1-1/2 c. of pure maple syrup, (reduce to 3/4 cup)
  • 1 c. finely chopped pecans (toasted)
  1. Preheat oven to 425
  2. Line a baking sheet pan with parchment
  3. In a large bowl mix together flour, BP, salt and sugar, cut in the butter add pecans, stir in the cream with a fork or pastry scraper, then add maple syrup.
  4. The dough will be sticky. lightly flour the board and transfer the dough to it. With hands and fingers lightly dusted, pat the dough gently into a circle. Roll out about 2 in. thick and cut any shape you want.
  5. Place on baking sheet about an inch apart.brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with turbinado brown sugar.
  6. Bake 15-20 min, after taking out of the oven drizzle maple syrup over all scones while stil hot. Serve with maple butter
