Miranda's Butter Cookies
  • Cooking Time: 12-15 Minutes
  • Servings: 2-3 dozen
  • Preparation Time: 10 Minutes
  • ½ lb butter (soft)
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 cups flour
  • Nutmeg (heavy sprinkle)
  • Colored jimmies or sprinkles (optional)
  1. Blend creamy butter and sugar together.
  2. Add egg yolks and nutmeg.
  3. Gradually add flour until stiff paste. (If batter is too thin, add a little flour.)
  4. Put batter in cookie press and press onto cookie baking sheet.
  5. Jimmies or sprinkles may be placed on top before baking.
  6. Bake at 350° for 12 – 15 minutes, depending on size of cookie.
This recipe came from my great-grandmother and has been passed down to the generations that followed. These cookies are baked each year for Christmas by various family members. Submitted by: "Nancy Tobin"
