Mock Lasagna

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 10-ounce package broad lasagna noodles broken into bite size pieces
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 12 ounces Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 12-ounce carton cottage cheese
  • 2 6-ounce cans tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons dried parsley flakes
DIRECTIONS
  1. Cook noodles according to package directions until tender; drain.
  2. Brown ground beef and sausage.
  3. Drain.
  4. Place in lightly greased CROCK-POT.
  5. Add all remaining ingredients.
  6. Stir to mix thoroughly.
  7. Cover, cook on Low 7 to 9 hours. (High: 3 to 5 hours).
