Mom's Balsamic Vinaigrette
  • 1/2c good quality Balsamic vinegar
  • 1 1/2 cups oil- we usually use Canola, but I like to substitute 1/3c olive oil for some of the canola
  • 1-2 TBSP water
  • 1-2 cloves pressed garlic
  • 2 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Salt and pepper
  1. place all ingredients into a jar and shake vigorously... this is always better the following day as it doesn't incorporate well right away.
I attribute my love of good food (and good taste!) to my mom. She is one of the most amazing cooks I know, and I feel so lucky to have learned from her! This Vinaigrette has always been tucked into the side of our (moms) fridge at home, and it is now tucked into the side of mine! And my sisters! Time to tuck it into yours too!
