Mom's Doubled-Frosted Brownies

INGREDIENTS
- 3/4 c. sifted all purpose flour
- 1/4 t. baking soda
- 1/4 t. salt
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/3 c veg shortening
- 2T water
- 1 pkg (6oz) semi sweet choc pieces
- 1 t vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 chopped nuts
- 1 can or vanilla frosting (since mom first made this recipe we have recently change the icing to cream cheese.
- Chocolate glaze:
- 1- pkg of chocolate pieces
- 1T. veg shortening and put in a double broiler until melted.
DIRECTIONS
- Sift flour,soda,salt onto wax paper.
- Combine sugar,shortening & water in a medium saucepan, Heat, stir constantly til sugar melts & mixture comes to a boil, Remove from heat, stir in choc pieces and vanilla til smooth.
- Beat eggs one at a time. stir in flour mixture & nuts. Spread evenly in 9x9x2 greased pan.
- Bake at 325 degrees for 30 mins (til firm on top)remove from oven * and cool completely.
- Spread White or Cream Cheese frosting over the top and chill until firm.
- Spread Chocolate Icing over the white icing and chill until firm.
