Mrs. Reilly's Family Beef Stew

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic spice
  • 1 tablespoon onion spice
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 3 pounds stew meat
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 bag of carrots
  • 2 bunches of celery
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 48 oz of beef stock
  • 5 potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 can of tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon thyme
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 bag of frozen peas
DIRECTIONS
  1. Put 1 cup flour, 1 tablespoon paprika, 1 tablespoon garlic spice, 1 tablespoon onion spice, Salt & Pepper , 3 pounds stew meat in a large ziplock and SHAKE!
  2. Put some butter in a big dutch oven pot and brown meat on all sides
  3. Remove meat
  4. Add more butter and cut up vegetables (except potatoes), garlic to brown vegetables
  5. Add 1/2 the beef stock and scrap bottom
  6. Add in potatoes
  7. Add in 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, 1 can of tomato paste, 1 tablespoon thyme, 1 tablespoon paprika , 2 bay leaves and stir!
  8. Add in meat and the rest of the beef stock.
  9. Simmer for 60-90 minutes, if too thick add in more beef stock, if too thin, leave top off
  10. Add in bag of frozen peas and cook for 10 more minutes
