My Great Grandma's Rum Cake

INGREDIENTS
  • For Cake:
  • 1 pkg. yellow cake mix
  • 1 pkg. instant vanilla pudding
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup rum
  • For Glaze:
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup rum
DIRECTIONS
  1. Mix cake ingredients together.
  2. Pour into a greased bundt pan.
  3. Bake 1 hour at 325.
  4. Allow to cool while you make glaze.
  5. For glaze: melt butter, stir in water and sugar. Boil 5 min. stirring constantly.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in rum.
  7. Put cake on a serving plate, prick top with a fork and drizzle glaze over the top.
  8. Allow cake to absorb glaze and repeat.
