My Great Grandma's Rum Cake
INGREDIENTS
- For Cake:
- 1 pkg. yellow cake mix
- 1 pkg. instant vanilla pudding
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1/2 cup rum
- For Glaze:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup rum
DIRECTIONS
- Mix cake ingredients together.
- Pour into a greased bundt pan.
- Bake 1 hour at 325.
- Allow to cool while you make glaze.
- For glaze: melt butter, stir in water and sugar. Boil 5 min. stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and stir in rum.
- Put cake on a serving plate, prick top with a fork and drizzle glaze over the top.
- Allow cake to absorb glaze and repeat.
